Please remember our Veterans...

I would like to thank all of you who came to the Flag retirement ceremony August 18th, I think it was a great success.  The Veterans were a wonderful group of gentlemen and they treated us to a absolutely great day.  If you couldn't make it, you really missed something special.

The Veterans informed me that they save tabs from soda cans.  For every 2000 that they save, a child with cancer can receive a free chemo treatment, so from this day forward I will be collecting them and delivering them to the veterans post whenever I have accumulated a large amount.  So if you would like to collect them and give them to me--I would be more than happy to deliver them--we can make a difference.  This will be an on going project so those who have GS troops-have your girls do it-you can get the tabs to me at leaders meetings and those from church-I see you every week--and friends and have your friends and so on and so on---  lets do this !!!!

They have a nice little building there that they rent at a reasonable price for events like troop holiday parties, picnics etc-so please keep them in mind.

Thank you to those who visited our booth on Oldbridge Day 9/29 at the OldBridge Municipal Complex.  The girls had info on flag etiquette to share and displays for everyone's viewing pleasure, they taught everyone some things they didn't know about the flag and gave all the opportunity to support the men and women who have served our proud country.

Girl Scout Troop 1293's Silver Group conducted a Flag Retirement Ceremony on August 18th, 2007 at 2 PM.  It took place at the VFW Post 9468.  The post is located at 8 First Place, off Marlboro Rd, Oldbridge, NJ.  Directions can be found here.

We are collecting items for the Veteran's home in Paramus New Jersey.  If you would like to donate, it would be greatly appreciated.  Please check below for the wish list that the Veteran's home has forwarded to us.

Please send us an email.  We will make arrangements to accept your donation.

Please remember the brave members of our Armed Forces that have given of themselves so selflessly so that you can enjoy the freedoms you have.
